This 43-year-old woman came to Dr. Poulter after losing 80 pounds through hard work, diet, and exercise. She was overall pleased with her new size and shape, but was still self-conscious about the fullness in her outer thighs and excess skin of her buttocks and abdomen. She was also interested in restoring the lost volume and improving the droop in her breasts.
When she met with Dr. Poulter they reviewed her medical history and discussed her goals. Body contouring after massive weight loss involves many different steps for each patient, and depending on the patient’s body type may be performed in combination or separately.
For this woman, a tummy tuck and lateral thigh and buttock lift, also known as the lower body lift, were performed at the same setting. This involves removing excess skin from the abdomen, lateral thighs, and buttocks.
Six months after her lower body lift, she returned for a breast lift (mastopexy) and augmentation. Dr. Poulter placed high profile, size 260, silicone gel implants under the muscle.
This patient’s results far exceeded her expectations, and she couldn’t be more pleased. Her smooth, youthful results are an example of what can be achieved in the hands of a highly skilled, board certified cosmetic surgeon like Dr. Poulter.
