Insurance Changes

Dear Patient:

We would like to inform you of a change to our insurance network here at The Center for Cosmetic and Laser Surgery. As of January 1, 2021 our status with all insurance plans has changed. We will no longer be in-network providers.

During the Covid-19 epidemic, we have had to change how we provide surgical care for our patients. Many times, our elective cases have not been able to be performed due to hospital overcrowding, and we have had to cancel and reschedule numerous cases throughout the year.  We have also had significant staffing changes and are doing our best to continue providing the exceptional service our patients expect and deserve.

Throughout the last 2 months, I have been unable to schedule or admit patients to the hospital and am unsure as to when we will be able to resume hospital admissions. As a result, we have decided to simplify our practice and continue to offer cosmetic and body contouring surgeries in our office. Unfortunately, health insurance plans do not cover in-office surgeries. Thus, we are opting out of our previously accepted insurance plans.

I will still be able to care for all my patients as an out-of-network provider. Your insurance will also continue to cover your anesthesia and operating room expenses (if done in the hospital or surgery center) as they would if I were in-network.

If you desire to transfer your care to an in-network provider, we will be more than willing to provide them with copies of your records. I am also willing to provide referrals for those providers I feel can best help you with your concerns.

We appreciate you trusting us with your health care needs in the past and look forward to continuing to help you in the future.

If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey S. Poulter, M.D., FACS
